Sunday morning reading
ChicagoElection 2016EntertainmentHillary ClintonLabour PartyPoliticsRepublican PartyTransport policyTrumpUK PoliticsUrban planningUS PoliticsAh, I can finally take a few minutes to read through my backlog of articles, which have a common theme coming off this past week's events:
- Josh Marshall says, yes, Trump & Putin is really a thing.
- James Fallows has 4 Trump Time Capsule posts I haven't read yet.
- New Republic says the GOP have made a world-historical mistake, Trump is on fire (and not in a good way), and we shouldn't be shocked by anything he says or does from now on.
- Mother Jones' David Corn says this was the most dangerous GOP convention ever.
- Crains' Greg Hinz points out that Ayn Rand has permeated the GOP platform; specifically, it declares public transit "social engineering" and anathema.
- The Dade County police union chief says the unarmed black guy a cop shot in North Miami wasn't the target; the cop missed the unarmed autistic guy the other guy was trying to help.
- PBS tells you what you need to know about presumptive Democratic VP nominee Tim Kaine.
- The Guardian's Andrew Rawnsley chastises Labour Party chief Jeremy Corbyn for sending the party towards its worst election defeat since the 1930s.
That, plus a tour of the Laguintas Brewery this afternoon (the one here, not the one in Petaluma), ought to keep me busy.
